What we do
Saving Animals & Finding Homes
No Stray’s team is working day and night for the welfare of the street dogs, daily we tour our area and nearby localities to respond to animal emergencies and reports of street dogs in need of medical treatment. At present, on ground we are:
What we are doing
On Regular Basis
- Identifying the dogs on the streets who are in poor conditions like limping in pain, suffering from malnutrition or having any other issue, we rescue them providing the necessities and medical aid with vet visits as well if needed.
- Naming each dog we rescue so that they can easily be identified in the future and also putting reflective collars on them with their name tags, to save them from the risk of accidents in the dark.
- Responding to emergencies like a female dog about to give birth, we make sure to create a clean safe place for her and her puppies, feeding her nutritious diet and necessary medicines.
- Also, take complete responsibility for the puppies’ adoption, deworming, vaccination and getting them sterilised on time.
What we are doing
On Daily Basis
- Feeding each one of them two nutritious meals daily with clean drinking water available to them so that they don’t have to eat from the bins and drink from the drains.
- Working towards setting up “Justy Water points” at different locations for the street dogs in collaboration with the nearby local vendors to ensure the availability of clean drinking water for them, especially in the scorching heat of summers.
[Why Justy? Justy was our first rescue dog who lost his life due to a deadly disease called canine distemper which is often transmitted if a healthy dog eats or drinks leftovers of an infected dog.]
- On our way, we always carry medical kits and extra portions of food for any of the canines we come across who need help.
What we are doing
On Yearly Basis
-
- We take the responsibility of each identified dog in getting them vaccinated for rabies and other diseases. Also getting them neutered in time as a step to control their growing population.
- Taking them for vet visits periodically to prevent or detect any major underlying diseases in its early stages, so they can be treated on time.
Working together each day, taking one step at a time, aiming to create this world a better place on the foundation of kindness and empathy for the breed called the ‘Stray’.
